“Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny.” – Samuel Smiles. What are the habits of engaged student leaders in our classrooms and how are these habits aligned to the content standards? What will you hear and see in a classroom of engaged student leaders? In this session, participants will examine the 7 Standards of Mathematical Practices found in Ohio’s Learning Standards. Participants will investigate how these practices can be applied across all content areas and ultimately sow habits that enable students to reach their destinies as engaged leaders.
